How to Log In to the BlitzMetrics Descript Account

Descript is the primary AI-powered transcription and video editing tool in the Content Factory’s Process stage. It transforms raw video and audio into clean transcripts, one-minute clips, audiograms, and captioned content. BlitzMetrics uses a shared Descript account — the Overdub Drive — where all transcription and editing projects live, and access is managed securely through LastPass.

This article is the definitive guide to logging into the BlitzMetrics Descript account. If you cannot log in, you cannot transcribe, edit, or repurpose any content — making this a prerequisite for nearly every task in the Process stage of the Content Factory.

Where Descript Fits in the Content Factory

The Content Factory operates in four stages: Produce, Process, Post, and Promote. Descript is the central tool of the Process stage. After raw content is produced (Zoom calls, podcast recordings, speaking events) and uploaded to Google Drive, the next step is processing that content through Descript to create transcripts, edited video clips, and audio assets.

Descript sits between raw content and finished articles. The transcription it produces becomes the foundation for blog posts (via the Blog Posting Guidelines), web pages, and social media content. Without Descript, there is no bridge from video to text.

Prerequisites

Before logging into Descript, you need access to the Content Factory’s shared credentials. If you have not yet been provisioned, start with How to Access Content Factory Photos and Videos and email operations@yourcontentfactory.com with your email address. The operations team will send you a LastPass invitation that includes the Descript credentials.

Step-by-Step Login Process

Step 1: Open LastPass

Navigate to your LastPass vault and find the Descript credentials in the BlitzMetrics shared folder. The credential entry will be labeled with “Descript” and contain the username and password for the shared account.

Step 2: Launch Descript

Click the “Launch” button in LastPass. This will open the Descript application in a new browser tab with the username and password fields pre-filled.

Step 3: Click Next to Sign In

With the credentials auto-filled by LastPass, click the “Next” button to complete the login. You will be taken to the Descript workspace.

Step 4: Switch to the Overdub Drive

By default, Descript may open in the “Creator’s Drive.” You need to switch to the Overdub Drive, which is where all BlitzMetrics transcription and editing projects are stored. Click on the drive name (e.g., “Creator’s Drive”) in the top-left area and select “Overdub Drive” from the dropdown menu.

Step 5: Verify You Are in the Correct Workspace

Confirm that you are in the Overdub Drive > Drive Workspace. You should see existing projects organized by client name, course name, or package name. If you see an empty workspace or unfamiliar projects, use the folder navigation arrows to switch to the correct drive and workspace.

Navigating the Descript Workspace

The Overdub Drive is organized using a consistent naming convention. Client projects use the format Client Name – Video Title (e.g., “Greg Perez – The Watcher”). Course content uses Course Name – Video Title (e.g., “Agency Management Program – 9 Triangles”). Package content uses Package Name – Video Title (e.g., “Content Engine Package – Plumbing”).

Always search for an existing project before creating a new one to avoid duplicates. Use the search bar at the top of the workspace and enter the video title or client name.

What to Do After Logging In

Once you are logged in and in the correct workspace, you can proceed with any of these Process-stage tasks:

Troubleshooting

If LastPass does not show the Descript credentials, email operations@yourcontentfactory.com to request access. If the credentials are rejected, the password may have been recently rotated — check with operations for the updated credentials. If you see the Creator’s Drive instead of the Overdub Drive, click the drive name dropdown and switch drives.
