Fiverr Freelancers: Here’s How To Land Jobs Using ChatGPT

Freelancers’ achilles heel has always been trust from Western clients.

If your English isn’t the best and your process isn’t clear, getting clients seems like a hassle. And as much as you cold DM and cold email strangers, the fish aren’t taking the bait.

ChatGPT Can Be Your Secret Weapon

ChatGPT is an AI tool which can do almost anything – and it’s free.

This includes:

  • Write articles
  • Write code
  • Solve math problems
  • Create images
  • Etc.

Let’s show you how to use it to get clients as a freelancer on Fiverr.

Your Bio Is What Employers See First – Let’s Make It Better

Let’s use this profile of Mohammed as an example.

image 22
Mohammed’s Profile and “About Me” Section

Mohammed focused on improving the SEO of local service businesses and wants more business from Western clients.

His description is a good start – but how can we improve it?

We simply copy and paste his “about me” section into ChatGPT and ask it to improve the description.

Asking ChatGPT To Re-Write His “About Me” Section

The following is the result.

“About Me” Section Re-Written With ChatGPT

Do you notice the small but meaningful improvements?

ChatGPT re-wrote his description in the 3rd person which increased trust and expanded on the original text to better meet the goals of potential employers.

Let’s use another example from Mohona from Bangladesh who does graphic design work.

image 26
Mohona’s Offer on Fiverr

Besides not capitalizing her words, what can be improved here?

It’s always better to be known for something specific as opposed to a general service you provide.

For example, Mohona could be known for making great graphic designs for Dentists or Doctors.

It could also be for startups that have just raised capital, daycares, or frankly, anything where there’s enough volume to be repeatable and get the same kind of clients.

You Must Be Laser Specific on Who You Serve and What You Do

For example, Mohona lists her deliverable here:

That’s good – but what is the process behind it?

Looking at this as an outsider you have no idea who this offer is for.

So let’s plug it into ChatGPT and ask for a re-write.

image 29
The Offer Re-Written With ChatGPT

How incredible is this?

Here’s the best part: if you don’t speak the best English you might be scared if the answers ChatGPT offers are valuable or not.

So what you can do to check, is simply ask it to re-write in another language like we did for Spanish here.

What’s the Best Way to Use ChatGPT?

Be specific with your directions and your GCT.

GCT stands for Goals, Content, and Targeting.

We call this the #1 VA mistake and it’s not being clear on the goal of the action being performed.

For example, let’s say I go into ChatGPT and ask “How do I get more clients on Fiverr for my SEO services?”

image 23
1st Example With ChatGPT

ChatGPT can then spit out what it recommends.

But what if my GOAL is to get home service clients paying $500 for my SEO services, I should include that in what I direct ChatGPT to generate.

For example, if I build on my last command and ask ChatGPT: “How do I get more clients on Fiverr for my SEO services? I target home service businesses and want to be paid at least $500 for my services”

Example of Using More Context With ChatGPT

Do you notice how the result is completely different based on 1 sentence of added context?

Adding more context related to your goals is great for getting better outcomes from ChatGPT.

Use One Minute Videos in Combination With Your New Fiverr Descriptions

One minute videos are short videos you record on a phone or laptop which are used to relay trust.

Having it present on your freelancer profile will help you massively.

The problem with most freelancers on Fiverr is that they don’t relay enough trust to the business who could use their service.

Many freelancers are afraid of getting on camera but I promise you – this will make a massive difference for Western companies who can hire you.

Here’s an example of a why video you can record:

1. WHEN I WAS __________.

Waste no time, get right to the story. This is where the WHY comes in.

Ex.) “When I was learning graphic design at my college in Morocco I looked around and realized this could be super useful to businesses in Western countries who had poor designs. I thought I could be of service to them and do great work.”

2. I BELIEVE THAT __________.

Now go from the emotion of the story you just told to the overarching lesson of what you stand for.

Ex.) “I believe that every company should have a compelling graphic logo to get more customers into their business and increase trust. No company should have to settle for a logo which doesn’t reflect who they are and the work they do.”

3. I AM __________.

Give a brief explanation of what you do. Make sure to be specific and concise.

Now go from the emotion of the story you just told to the overarching lesson of what you stand for.Ex.) “My name is Mohammed and I do graphic design for businesses in the United States to increase trust for their customers and to demonstrate expertise in their industry”

If you were a company looking for a graphic designer, wouldn’t you rather hire the freelancer with the video in their profile?

This Doesn’t Have to Be Perfect

If your English is bad or you have a strong accent – don’t worry.

The point of one-minute videos for your profile isn’t for public speaking, it’s for demonstrating that others can trust you.

Don’t get caught up in the weeds and specifics. This can take 1-2 minutes in total.

What matters most is the intent and you being clear on who you serve and how you perform the task for them.

As long as you’re clear about this – every potential employer will forgive your grammar.

When you’re making the video, be sure to look at the camera. Don’t stay in one place and move around a little bit.

The purpose is to have some motion, but not like the shaky motion. This gives people a sense of who you are.

Then you can show examples of your work and talk about the process.

How are you going to do this part better?

You are going to use ChatGPT.

You can go in and ask:

“According to Dennis Yu, what’s a good one minute video script for a Fiverr freelancer who does SEO for local service companies in the US?”

Here is the result.

image 24
Example of Asking What Dennis Yu Would Write as a Script

Don’t Worry Too Much About How You Look

People hire you for your knowledge and not for your looks. You want them to see that you’re human.

And as you do this, always keep a smile.

In my opinion, a smile shows how you feel towards the other person, your energy, your experience, what you think, and your opinions.

By not smiling, it seems that you’re turning your back on people.

AI Tools Like ChatGPT Will Only Help If You Do a Good Job

If you use everything we mentioned in this article but have a 1 star rating, it won’t help you.

The purpose of ChatGPT and one minute videos is to elevate your existing good work through increasing the trust of people who can hire you.

If you do bad work – this won’t save you.

If you do great work and are looking to land more gigs – ChatGPT might be the tool your missing.
