A 14-Day QA Note Is a Spec — We Closed the Agency-Audit Page

Dennis Yu and Dan Leibrandt on The Coach Yu Show talking about how to catch a marketing agency that will not show its work

This page is a worked example (a leaf). The canonical for how we audit is How we audit.

Fourteen days after Dennis wrote the QA notes, the agency-audit page still opened with “chances are you’re spending money on digital marketing” and led with a photo of him holding a TikTok ads book. We closed the notes in one pass — opener, lead image, free Quick Audit button, 200+ audit index, lab-coat video, SEO tree — instead of another training cycle.

14days the notes sat open
0TikTok-book lead images left
200+published audits now in the CTA

The notes were already the spec

The Coach Yu episode with Dan Leibrandt lives at blitzmetrics.com/agency-audit/. Muzamil had already done the hard mechanical work: processed video, shorts, Dan’s name (not Danny), danleibrandt.com (not the old URL he redirected), and a Quick Audit button. Dennis’s August 3 comment was the remaining strategy pass:

  • The opening sentence assumed contractors spend on marketing. Everyone already knows that.
  • The lead image was Dennis holding The Definitive Guide to TikTok Advertising. Not the diagnosis. Not the offer.
  • Put the page that has the audits next to a free Quick Audit button.
  • Watch the lab-coat video — marketing as surgery, not used-car sales — then adjust this page and its siblings.
  • Wire Leo’s Quick Audit master + industry hub, and the Marko “own your own marketing” page, into the same tree.

Those notes sat unanswered from August 3 to August 17. Another round of one-on-one teaching would have restated them. Closing them is faster.

Lesson: a QA comment is a spec. If it is still true on the live page two weeks later, do the edit. Do not wait for another explanation of LDT. The human already wrote the prescription.

Verification (live DOM, cache-busted)

Post 104256, author 30. WP Engine cache purged. Fetched /agency-audit/ with a busted cache:

  • Weak opener: gone.
  • m.png / Amazon TikTok-book link: gone.
  • og:image: coach-yu-dan-leibrandt.jpg.
  • Both CTAs present. Lab-coat embed present. dannyleibrandt still zero hits.
