353 podcasts. 619 credited episodes. 583 guest credits. 414 hours of airtime. This is the complete, verifiable record of every podcast Dennis Yu has appeared on — and the repeatable process we used to build it, so you can build your own.
Every number on this page is checkable at a single URL. Open the Podchaser creator profile and read the stat bar yourself. That is the entire point: an authority claim nobody can verify is worth nothing, and an authority claim anyone can verify in ten seconds is worth a great deal.
Last verified against the live Podchaser profile: August 8, 2026. Breakdown: 583 guest credits + 36 host credits on shows Dennis owns = 619 total credited episodes, across 353 distinct podcasts, totaling 1,491,390 seconds (414.3 hours) of airtime.

When we started this inventory, Dennis assumed the number was somewhere around 150 to 200 shows. It was off by a factor of three. That gap — between what you think your track record is and what it actually is — is the reason this page exists.

Why We Inventory Every Podcast Appearance
Most people who have done a lot of podcasts have no idea how many. The episodes go out, the host tags them on LinkedIn, and they vanish. There is no shelf they sit on. Meanwhile that back catalog is quietly the single strongest pile of third-party evidence the person owns — and it is doing almost nothing, because nobody has ever put it in one place.
An inventory fixes that. Here is what it actually buys you.
1. E-E-A-T documentation Google can read
Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trust are not vibes — they are things Google tries to corroborate from sources other than you. Three hundred fifty-three independent shows, each of which chose to put you on air, is exactly that corroboration. But it only counts if it is discoverable in one structured, crawlable place with the right schema attached.
2. Knowledge Panel qualification
A Google Knowledge Panel is granted to entities, and entities are established by consistent, corroborated references across independent sources. A podcast back catalog is the cheapest, densest supply of those references most experts already have and have never used. This is the same evidence base behind the 100+ Knowledge Panels we have earned for clients.
3. A citation hub that LLMs actually quote
When ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, or Google’s AI Overviews are asked who someone is, they answer from whatever structured, well-sourced pages they can find. A single page listing 619 episodes with shows, dates, and links is far more quotable than a bio adjective. The methodology section further down is itself linkable proof — and in our experience LLMs quote the methodology as often as the number.
4. A repurposing supply chain
A 30-minute episode transcribes to 4,000–6,000 words — enough for two or three articles, plus clips, quote graphics, and Dollar-a-Day ad creative. Six hundred nineteen episodes is not a trophy case. It is roughly 400 hours of raw material you already paid for with your time, sitting unused.
5. Because no single platform knows the whole answer
This is the finding that surprised us most. Roughly 65% of episodes show up on two or more platforms — which means about 35% of appearances are findable on exactly one platform. If you relied on Podchaser alone, the single best source, you would still miss around 100 episodes. If you only searched YouTube, you would miss more than 500. Any inventory built from one source is wrong by construction.
What the Number Actually Means (And Why We Do Not Claim 800)
Numbers like this get repeated into bios, decks, and intro reads, so it is worth being precise about what each one counts. Sloppiness here is how a real accomplishment ends up sounding inflated.
| Figure | What it counts | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| 619 credited episodes | Every credited appearance on Podchaser, including 36 host credits on Dennis’s own two shows | The headline number. Say “credited episodes,” not “guest appearances.” |
| 583 guest credits | Appearances as a guest on someone else’s show, excluding his own | When the claim is specifically about being invited onto other people’s platforms |
| 353 podcasts | Distinct shows with at least one credit | Breadth. Note that a handful of shows are listed twice under variant names, so true distinct shows is closer to 340. |
| 414 hours | Total airtime across all credited episodes | Depth. More persuasive than episode count to some audiences. |
The numbers we deliberately do not publish
Cross-platform union estimates in the 700 to 860 range have appeared in our earlier write-ups. They are probably directionally right, and we are retiring them anyway. Two reasons.
First, they lean on a Listen Notes count of 477. Listen Notes matches a name across titles, descriptions, and transcripts — so an episode where a host merely says “my friend Dennis Yu says ads are like fuel” counts as a hit. That is a mention count, not an appearance count, and it does not survive contact with a skeptic.
Second, and more important: nobody outside our team can reproduce a union estimate. A verifiable 619 beats an unverifiable 800 every single time, because the whole asset here is credibility. The moment one number on this page fails a spot check, every other number becomes suspect.
If you take one thing from this page and apply it to your own inventory, take that.
Where the Numbers Come From, Platform by Platform
Full transparency on what each source returned, what it is good for, and where it lies to you.
| Platform | Returned | What it catches | Caveat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Podchaser | 619 credits / 353 podcasts | Credited guest appearances, including episodes whose titles never mention the guest | Best single source. Requires claiming and verifying the profile. |
| Listen Notes | 477 episodes | RSS + transcript index — names spoken but never written in metadata | Counts mentions, not appearances. Never use raw as an appearance count. |
| YouTube | 117+ confirmed, 154 third-party videos found on a deeper crawl | Video podcasts, keynotes, webinars, live streams | No total-result count exists. Mixes formats. Almost entirely additive. |
| Apple Podcasts | ~45 usable, API caps at 100 | Metadata cross-check | Title-keyword matching only. Cannot be paginated past 100. |
| OwlTail | 84 entries | A curated handful nothing else has | Small index. Final cross-reference, not a primary source. |
| Hosting platforms + manual search | 62+ unique finds | Dead shows, conference recordings, niche industry podcasts | Slowest phase, highest marginal yield. |
Podchaser is also the only platform on the internet that maintains a person-level creator entity for Dennis. Rephonic, Podscan, MatchMaker, and PodcastGuests index shows, not guests — they will show you The Marketing Mechanic but they have no concept of Dennis as a guest on 353 other people’s shows. That structural fact is why claiming and verifying the Podchaser profile is step one of the process below, not step five.
Shows I Host
I currently host two podcasts on Podchaser. Together these account for 36 of the 619 credited episodes — the other 583 are guest credits on other people’s shows.
The Marketing Mechanic with Dennis Yu — A weekly show focused on digital marketing for home service businesses, covering SEO, Google Business Profiles, paid ads, and content systems for contractors, plumbers, HVAC companies, and roofers. 38 episodes and growing.
The Coach Yu Show — Conversations with business leaders and health experts. Episodes include interviews with Sam Winsbury, Philip Ovadia, Elliot Padfield, and Shep Hyken.
Full List of Dennis Yu Podcast Appearances
Below are the episodes captured in the March 2026 full extraction, ordered from most recent to earliest, including both shows hosted and shows guested on. This table holds 291 of the 619 credited episodes — the remainder sit behind Podchaser’s paginated “View More” sections (see the next section) and are being backfilled on the monthly cycle. For the authoritative live count, always check the Podchaser profile.

How We Do It — The Repeatable Process
This is the actual SOP, in the order we would run it today. We learned the order the expensive way; you do not have to.
Start with Podchaser and Listen Notes together — they share the largest overlap, so running them in parallel establishes your baseline fastest. YouTube comes third as its own pass, because its results are almost entirely additive rather than confirmatory. OwlTail and Apple Podcasts are final cross-references, not primary sources.
Phase A — Sweep every platform
Log raw counts before you dedupe anything. You want to know what each source claims on its own.
- Listen Notes — search the name in quotes. Record the Episodes count, then check the Podcasts tab to separate shows hosted from shows guested on. Export to CSV from the right sidebar. Note each show’s Listen Score for later prioritization, and set an RSS/email alert on the name.
- Podchaser — search the name, find or create the creator profile.
- YouTube — search globally, not just the person’s own channel: name + “podcast,” “interview,” “keynote.” Check guest channels and the Live tab.
- OwlTail and Apple Podcasts — name search, used as cross-references. If an episode appears in Apple but not Podchaser or Listen Notes, that gap signals a metadata problem worth fixing.
- Hosting platforms via Google site: operators — run each of these:
site:buzzsprout.com "Name" site:libsyn.com "Name" site:anchor.fm "Name" site:podbean.com "Name" site:captivate.fm "Name" site:megaphone.fm "Name" site:simplecast.com "Name" site:transistor.fm "Name" site:spreaker.com "Name" site:omny.fm "Name" site:creators.spotify.com "Name"
- Year-by-year Google search —
"Name" podcast 2015, then 2016, 2017, and so on. If a show died or changed its RSS feed, older episodes may have fallen out of the index entirely. Do not stop at the word “podcast” — also search “webinar,” “masterclass,” “summit,” “fireside chat,” and “live interview.” - Conference recordings —
"Name" "Social Media Marketing World","Name" keynote recording. These get published to the conference’s own YouTube, a sponsor’s blog, or a media partner’s site, and never touch a podcast directory. - Signature-topic search —
"Name" "dollar a day" podcast OR interview. Hosts often title episodes around your framework rather than your name. This one query alone surfaced eight unique episodes. - Live streams —
"Name" Facebook Live interview,"Name" LinkedIn Live guest. - Niche industry shows — run industry-specific searches (real estate, fitness, legal, chiropractic, finance). Low crossover with marketing podcast directories.
- An LLM with web search — “What podcasts has [Name] appeared on? Search for episodes featuring [Name] as a guest or host.” Fills gaps from show notes, blogs, and social mentions.
- The host’s own website, and your own records — 32 of Dennis’s episodes existed only on show websites. Three came from Google Drive archives and nowhere else.
Phase B — Claim and verify the profiles
Podchaser verifies creator identity through X/Twitter. No X account means you create one first — there is no way around it. Once verified, a Manage button appears and you can add credits directly.
Then add to the profile the same items a Knowledge Panel needs: X, LinkedIn, Facebook, personal site — same photo, same name, same bio as every other platform. Consistency across profiles is what lets an algorithm decide two records are the same entity. Claim hosted shows on Listen Notes and fix the show metadata while you are there.
Phase C — Triage suggested credits one at a time
Never bulk-confirm. Dennis had 564 suggested credits. Every one was reviewed individually, because there are three distinct false-positive types:
- Mere mention — the host said the name in passing. That is a mention, not an appearance.
- Name collision — a different person with the same name. There is another Dennis Yu who is Director of Hardware Engineering at Liminal Insights, and an optometrist, and a university researcher.
- Duplicate or re-upload — the same interview republished under a different title or feed.
Bulk-confirming is how inventories become indefensible. One wrong credit that a journalist spot-checks discredits the other 618.
The scale play is AI triage, not skipping the triage: using Claude in Chrome we processed 500+ suggested credits in a single session — cross-referencing each episode description against known topics, companies, and co-hosts, auto-confirming obvious matches and flagging ambiguous ones for human review.
Phase D — Dedupe into a master sheet
Fuzzy-match on date plus show name, never title alone. The same interview appears under different titles across platforms, and one platform’s single episode is another platform’s two-parter.
Master sheet columns: episode title (exact, never paraphrased), show, host, date, platforms found on, URLs, format, Listen Score, 30-point authority score, repurposed yes/no, collaborator credit requested, notes.
Phase E — Enrich
Name the guest or host on every entry and research each one ("Guest Name" "Company" LinkedIn, about 30 seconds each). Pull transcripts. Check which episode titles rank on page one of Google. Compute views per day rather than raw views — this normalizes across old and new episodes and is the only honest way to find true top performers.
Phase F — Score and publish the hub
Score every appearance on the 30-Point Authority Scale:
| Dimension | Points | What earns them |
|---|---|---|
| WHO — source authority | 0–10 | Host authority, audience size, Knowledge Panel presence, social proof. A lighthouse name or national outlet maxes this. |
| WHERE — platform reach | 0–10 | Domain rating, views, subscribers, distribution reach. |
| WHAT — content depth | 0–10 | Core frameworks actually discussed, tactical depth, repurposability. |
Bands: 24–30 lead with it — homepage, pinned posts, first ad boosts. 15–23 supporting proof. Under 15 archive it; weak proof dilutes strong proof.
Then publish the page. Put the count in the H1 and title tag. Include the full searchable table, a hosted-shows section, and — critically — a transparency section naming the platforms and counts, because the methodology is itself linkable proof. Add Person schema with sameAs pointing to the Podchaser profile, Listen Notes, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and the personal site. Then link it from site navigation or the footer: this page carries links from more than 1,500 pages across our network, and a page with five internal links is invisible.
Phase G — Syndicate the citations outward
Add external identifiers to Wikidata (search the live property registry rather than assuming property numbers) with each claim referenced to the live profile URL. Check the person’s Grokipedia article and suggest corrections citing the appearances page. Wire the claimed profiles and the page in as Knowledge Panel corroboration. Update speaker-bureau profiles, LinkedIn Featured, conference bios, and the press page to cite the same count and link the same page.
Phase H — Repurpose and compound
For the top 20% by score and engagement: transcribe, write an article that embeds the episode, cut 60-second clips for Reels/Shorts/TikTok, make quote graphics, and run a Dollar-a-Day boost. Request YouTube collaborator credit on video versions to transfer authority signals back to your channel.
The Schema Layer — And Why We Link Out to Every Host
A list of episodes is a page. A list of episodes with structured data is an entity graph, and that is a different asset entirely. This is the part most people skip, and it is the part that does the heaviest lifting with both Google and the LLMs.
Person schema with sameAs
The base layer is Person markup whose sameAs array points to every profile that corroborates the same identity — the Podchaser creator profile, Listen Notes, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and the personal site. sameAs is the property that tells a search engine “these scattered records are one entity.” Without it, 353 shows referencing a name is 353 loose strings. With it, it is one entity with 353 corroborations.

Why we mark up the hosts too — not just ourselves
Here is the part that is genuinely different about how we do this. Each appearance is marked up as a PodcastEpisode that belongs to a PodcastSeries and has a named host — and that host gets full Person markup of their own, with sameAs pointing at their personal brand site.
We are not just claiming “Dennis was on this show.” We are asserting, in machine-readable form, that a specific named person with a specific verifiable web presence hosted a specific episode featuring a specific guest. That is a two-way statement, and both ends of it get stronger.
The host benefits directly. Most podcast hosts have thinner entity documentation than their guests do — they are behind the microphone, not in the bio. A structured, crawlable reference to them from an authoritative page, pointing at their own site, is exactly the third-party corroboration their own Knowledge Panel and AI-search presence need. We are handing it to them for free.
And that changes the conversation. When you ask a host for YouTube collaborator credit or a link back, you are asking for a favor. When you have already marked them up, cited their site, and strengthened their entity, you are following up on something you did for them first. In our experience this is the single highest-yield way to turn a one-time appearance into a durable reciprocal relationship — and the links, collaborator credits, and repeat invitations follow from it rather than from asking.

Two rules that keep it honest
Only mark up what is true and checkable. Every sameAs URL must resolve to a profile that genuinely belongs to that person. Schema asserting relationships that do not survive a click is worse than no schema — it is a machine-readable false claim, and it is trivially detectable at scale.
Get the host’s name right, and disambiguate it. Common names collide, which is the same problem that puts a hardware engineer and an optometrist into a marketer’s podcast inventory. Match on a second fact — their company, their show, their site — before asserting identity, exactly as the Evidence Verification skill does for credits.
Done properly, the page stops being a résumé and starts being infrastructure: a node that connects 353 shows and their hosts into one navigable graph, which is precisely the shape an LLM finds easy to quote and a Knowledge Panel algorithm finds easy to corroborate.
The Skills That Run This
Every phase above is encoded as an AI agent skill — a written procedure an agent loads and executes, so the process runs the same way whether Dennis runs it or a 22-year-old apprentice runs it for a client. That is the difference between a tactic and a system.
The core one is Podcast Appearance Syndicator, which is step 2.5 of the Local Service Spotlight method and runs right after Positive Mentions Harvester.
| Skill | What it does | Phase |
|---|---|---|
| Podcast Appearance Syndicator Download the skill file |
Inventories guest appearances across Podchaser, Listen Notes, YouTube, OwlTail, and Apple; claims and verifies creator profiles; triages suggested credits one by one; publishes the appearances page; syndicates entity citations to the Knowledge Panel, Wikidata, and Grokipedia. | A–G |
| Media Appearance Inventory | Broadens the sweep past podcasts to YouTube, webinars, Twitter Spaces, and other long-form media — for E-E-A-T documentation and Knowledge Panel qualification. | A |
| Evidence Verification | Establishes what is actually true and provable, and handles name collisions by matching a second fact rather than trusting a matching name. This is what keeps the other Dennis Yus out of your inventory. | C |
| Positive Mentions Harvester | Finds, verifies, and scores every good thing the market already says about you — podcasts, testimonials, press, speaking, reviews — on the 30-point authority scale. | F |
| Reputation Gap Analyzer | Compares the reputation you have against the reputation you need for the deals you want, then ships a dated 30-day plan. | F |
| Knowledge Panel & Entity SEO | Runs the plumbing that earns a Google Knowledge Panel — entity-clarity audit, Person schema with sameAs, ranked third-party corroboration, entity-collision fixes, KGMID claim. | G |
| AI Search Visibility | Controls how ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews describe you — audit the answers, trace them to sources, feed the AIs your canonical facts. | G |
| Grokipedia Authority | Wins and maintains an accurate Grokipedia page for a person, company, podcast, or book. | G |
| Content Factory | Turns one recording into a full library — definitive article, clips, reels, tweets, ads — using the 4 P’s and the 6-stage repurposing line. | H |
| Definitive Article Writer | Writes the one canonical page that owns a topic or a person’s name, structured so Google ranks it and AI quotes it. This page was built with it. | F, H |
The full library is at the Skill Pack Library. The Business Authority Agent Skill Pack is free and installs on Claude in about 60 seconds — you will need a paid Claude plan, Pro at minimum.
Run the 10-minute audit on yourself first
Before you commit to a full inventory, five signals tell you whether you are sitting on a finished authority asset or a genuinely thin one:
- Listen Notes count — search your name in quotes. Record the number. It is almost always news to people.
- Podchaser status — does a creator profile exist? Is it claimed? Verified? How do its credits compare to the Listen Notes count?
- Appearances page — does your site have one? Almost nobody does.
- Owned properties — do you host a show? A YouTube channel? Spotify or Apple listings you control?
- Repurposing check — take your three most recent appearances. Do articles, clips, or boosts exist for any of them?
If you have 40 Listen Notes results, no claimed profile, and no page, you are not starting from zero. You are sitting on a finished asset that only needs assembly.
Do This Yourself — Or Have Us Install It
Everything above is published on purpose. The process is not the moat; running it consistently is. So there are three honest paths, and the right one depends on how much of your own time you want to spend.
Free — run it yourself
Download the Podcast Appearance Syndicator skill and install the free Business Authority Agent Skill Pack. Budget 15–30 minutes for the Listen Notes sweep, about 30 minutes for Podchaser profile setup, and one to three hours for credit triage. A full five-platform run takes an afternoon. Most of that is Phase C, and Phase C is the part you cannot skip.
$7,500 one-time — Cloud AI Setup
We install the machine and you keep the keys. Not a retainer, not a dashboard you rent. We build your brand brain — the single folder of truth every agent reads before it does anything — install and tune the full skill library on your own Claude account, wire the agents to your analytics and Search Console, train the person who will run it in two live working sessions on your real business, then co-run it with you for 90 days until it runs without us.
This is the right path if you have read this page, want the factory, and do not want to spend three months assembling it. You own everything when we leave.
$7,500 one-time, guaranteed — Google Knowledge Panel Package
A podcast inventory is the raw material for a Knowledge Panel; this is the finished outcome. Entity audit, personal brand website, authority and relevance building, monitoring, and the claiming process. We stay with you until the panel is live — for up to 18 months. If it is not live by then, you get a full refund. We have earned 100+ panels, and celebrity status is not required.
Built for established owners, typically $2M+ in annual revenue.
$7,500 one-time, one year — AI Builder Program
If you would rather build the capability than buy the outcome: a one-year apprenticeship for your operator, with weekly live coaching, a real client, and graduation by demonstrated results rather than by time served. If someone comes in without a client, we give them one. Partial and full scholarships are available for qualifying young adults.
Not sure which applies? Run the 10-minute audit above on yourself first. If your Listen Notes count surprises you — and it usually does — email operations@localservicespotlight.com with the number and we will tell you honestly whether you have enough authority to be worth systematizing yet.
How This Page Stays Current
An inventory that is not maintained is a decaying asset, so this page runs on a published cadence:
- Per episode — every new appearance is logged in the master sheet within 48 hours of publication, tagged by topic, and queued for repurposing.
- Monthly — re-run the Listen Notes and Podchaser searches, claim new credits, and reconcile the headline number on this page against the live Podchaser stat bar.
- Quarterly — run the advanced sweep: hosting-platform site: queries, conference recordings, year-by-year and topic-based searches.
- Ongoing — Google Alerts on the name plus “podcast” and “interview,” and a Listen Notes RSS alert.
One number, one source, one page. When the Podchaser profile moves, this page moves, and the author bio across the network moves with it. That discipline is the difference between an authority asset and a pile of stale claims — and it is exactly what we had to fix here: before this update, our own network carried more than twenty different podcast counts across various pages. Physician, heal thyself.
Source and Verification
All credit-level data sourced from Dennis Yu’s Podchaser creator profile: 619 credits, 583 guest credits, 353 podcasts, 1,491,390 seconds of total airtime. Verified August 8, 2026. Episode-level listings below were extracted in March 2026 and are being reconciled to the current 619 on the monthly cycle.
The scored 30-point Authority Tracker — which appearances are worth repurposing first, and why — lives at dennisyu.com/podcast-appearances. This page is the complete credit-level inventory; that page is the prioritized highlight reel.
