This page is a worked example (a leaf). The canonical for how we audit is How we audit. The seven-component exam and the full published list: SEO Audits by Dennis Yu.
Osso Construction is a remodeling and concrete contractor serving Terrell and Kaufman County, Texas. This SEO audit found a clean technical foundation and 57 referring domains — but a Domain Rating of 0, zero rankings, and a services page whose title tag is an exact duplicate of the contact page. The free Quick Audit is at the bottom.
Recognize a pre-SEO site, not a broken one
Osso Construction has the foundation most local sites lack: HTTPS with a working HTTP→HTTPS 301, active crawling, and 57 referring domains. The problem is the surface, not the plumbing. The site ranks for 0 organic keywords, earns 0 traffic, sits at DR 0, and runs just 11 indexed pages with structural gaps.
This is a pre-SEO site. The link equity exists; the content authority does not. Once the branch hubs are built and a handful of technical issues are cleared, that existing equity should begin translating into rankings within 60 to 90 days.
| Metric | Observed | Healthy local |
|---|---|---|
| Domain Rating | 0 | 20–40 |
| Organic keywords | 0 | 200+ |
| Live referring domains | 57 | 10–40 |
| Indexed pages (200 OK) | 11 | 15–30 |
| Duplicate title tags | 1 | 0 |
Open /services/ and /contact/ side by side and read each browser tab title. The audit found both reading “Contact Us for a Remodeling Quote.” Identical titles make Google deprioritize one of the two pages — rewrite the /services/ title to describe the actual service scope. This is a five-minute fix.
Fix the duplicate title and trim crawl waste
Two quick technical wins come first. Rewrite the duplicate /services/ title so it no longer mirrors /contact/. Then NOINDEX the two exposed WordPress feeds, /feed/ and /comments/feed/, which waste crawl budget and dilute the signal of pages that actually matter. The privacy-policy page also returns a non-standard HTTP 202 instead of 200 and should be corrected.
Build the two revenue pillars into hubs
Osso has two revenue pillars — remodeling and concrete — but no developed branch hubs to anchor them. Build out a Remodeling hub and a Concrete hub, then create geographic leaf pages for the top cities in the Terrell and Kaufman County service area. Name the owner on the About page and link that named expert from every service page; that single move lifts the WHO score across the whole site. This is the EEAT foundation behind the MAA framework.
Search Google for site:ossoconstructiontx.com and count the results. The audit found only 11 indexed pages with key branch hubs missing. If your two main services do not each have a dedicated, content-rich hub page in that list, that is the structural gap to close first.
Same method behind this breakdown — your site, your real numbers, your fix sequence.
