How We Turned 30 Positive Mentions Into a Factory

The Alex Makowski pack was the example. The follow-up was “do this for 30.” Ninety-plus days later the example was still a one-off. We made the inventory findable, wired a weekly harvest, and shipped the first quote-card batch live.

The assignment

Basecamp todo 9899830807 in Local Service Spotlight Content: Repurposing, list “Repurposing videos | May 2026.” Muzamil added it May 17. Dennis’s May 18 comment is the spec that sat: overlay the mention on the image, do it for 30 high-powered mentions, document them as an article, do not waste the Grant coaching, teach by demonstrated example so agents can do it for clients.

What we found

  • No Dennis-owned positive-mentions spreadsheet a teammate could find in Drive. Podcast tracker ≠ mentions. 2023 “content library” stub ≠ mentions.
  • Public walls already had dozens of real quotes. They were a museum, not a queue.
  • Scheduled mention hunting for Dennis did not exist. SERP monitor watches attacks. Harvester skill exists in packs but wrote nowhere canonical.
  • Forbes/Adweek/CNN rows in older scoring pages had no live URLs. We refused to mint quotes for those logos.

Decision: one person (this agent) owned the inventory file. Articles consume rows; they do not fork a second list. Status values are machine-readable: MUZAMIL_EXAMPLE, SHIP_THIS_RUN, ON_HUB, STILL_OPEN.

Verification

Live URLs were fetched cache-busted after publish. Gmail SENT was not used as proof of Basecamp. The sheet URL is in the Basecamp comment on the same todo.
