Simple Things NuVision Window Film and Graphics Can Do To Take Control of Their SEO And Become Googleable

NuVision is a business window tinting company based in Milwaukee, WI owned by Scott Mack.

Their goal is to get more visitors and business into their website through organic search and becoming more Googleable.

Specifically, B2B sales instead of the typical car tinting services, which they’re trying to avoid since auto-tints are cheap and range from $50 – $200.

Local B2B can be notoriously tricky – which is why we wanted to lift open the hood and take a look at their SEO as of today.

Taking a look at their keywords, you’ll notice that they rank on their own name and not much else under a rank 10.

The good news is that there’s a sufficient volume of searches which means there’s plenty of room to improve.

As far as backlinks, there’s a few good referrals including the chamber of commerce for Madison, WI and not much else.

In 2019, it looks as though someone was hired for SEO work and implemented many spammy backlinks which did little to improve their total SEO.

Whenever you see a “301”, that means there’s no juice being passed.

If you’re Google, you will not consider links like this reputable.

The home page of their website is descriptive and uses powerful keywords, but a major handicap they have continues to be using stock images instead of their own.

If we were to highlight the image and search on Google, we find that these images are from Wikipedia or other sources.

Something as simple as implementing their own images would be a huge step in the right direction.

Since our audit a few weeks ago they’ve already taken great action to improve their local service pages.

For example, before they had no LSPs other than Madison, WI.

As of today they’ve implemented 3 more in Sun Prairie, Janesville, and Fitchburg.

Madison is especially important since that’s where the majority of there business has come from in 2024.

Just like the home page, however, they continue to use stock images instead of their own.

On Sun Prairie’s local service page for example, they use stock images from Sun Prairie’s Wikipedia account.

Here’s how NuVision Can Take Control of Their SEO Almost Immediately:

Post real images and stories as one-minute videos in the locations they operate in.

Because these images are Geo-tagged this tells Google that they’re a legitimate business, doing real work in the area they operate in.

Even small things like replacing the main image in their LSPs with those taken themselves.

In these specific pages, they should also sprinkle in photos and one-minute videos of them working in the town.

The good news is that NuVision has been in business for over 15 years and so they already have a treasure trove of photos and videos they can implement today.

Even their about page, which should have plenty of images of videos of themselves working, you’d only find a single stock image.

If you’re Google, you’re looking for any proof that there’s no possible way this site could be generated by someone else.

By giving them plenty of images of Nuvision’s team working in the field, we can confirm this.

NuVision should take advantage of ChatGPT to answer Google’s PAA (People Also Ask).

By answering these questions on their home page or on specific LSPs, they’re again telling Google that they’re reputable.

Because these are Google’s own PAA questions, this also increases the chance that they’ll rank on keywords related to window tinting for businesses.

The cool thing about this is almost no work is required – you can simply plug this into ChatGPT and get SEO-recommended answers.

NuVision should collaborate with other local service businesses in the Milwaukee and Madison area.

Scott mentioned in the audit that much of their business comes from referrals – so why not extend that network online as well?

The backlinks that come from real businesses in their local area will improve their SEO 10x more than any backlinks once could buy online.

This can be someone as simple as a one-minute video explaining what they do.

It can also be a full interview which could be repurposed into an article and posted online for even more SEO power.

NuVision’s GMB (Google Business Profile) has great reviews – but they’re handicapped by the small number of them.

They should prioritize getting more reviews and implementing simple LSA (Local Service Ads) to start getting more calls in the door automatically.

In conclusion:

  • Import existing photos and videos into NuVision’s website of real workers doing work in the places they say they do
  • Improve Local Service Pages with better unique descriptions and images
  • Use ChatGPT to answer PAA questions for Google
  • Collaborate with other local service providers in the Milwaukee / Madison area through interviews, one-minute videos, and repurposed articles
