Grant Haugen quit the week of June 27th. Before he left, he’d already built a real speaker-reel page for Dennis — two embedded videos, CNN and the Wall Street Journal in the press row, feedback from Dennis in Basecamp as recent as June 19th. Nobody working on the NEW dennisyu.com speaker page this week knew the old one existed. It was live the whole time.
Basecamp opened up the second Dennis logged in
We’d tried to reach Dennis’s Basecamp all week. No connector exists for it — checked the registry twice, zero results for “basecamp.” Chrome could load the page, but there was no session. So Dennis logged in himself and sent five words: “I’m logged into basecamp now so you can continue.”
That unlocked more than expected. Dennis runs at least four separate Basecamp accounts under one login — an old “BlitzMetrics” Basecamp 2 instance from 2018, a Basecamp Classic instance, a “Community” account, and the one that actually matters: Local Service Spotlight, a Basecamp 5 account where every real 2025-2026 conversation lives. That’s where the actual thread was — “Devon Hennig: Personal Branding and Props to Dennis (Continuation),” inside a project called “BlitzMetrics Content: Internal Video Production.”
Grant had already shipped this
The thread wasn’t a to-do list. It was a record of finished work. blitzmetrics.com/dennis-yu-speaker-reel/ already exists — two embedded YouTube videos, a press row with CNN, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, NPR, TechCrunch, Fox News, and CBS Evening News, real speaking stats, and copy that already runs Dennis’s own frameworks: SBP (Specialist / Business / Partner, one of his “9 Triangles”) and LDT (Learn-Do-Teach). Dennis gave Grant direct feedback on it as recently as June 19th — button removal, an opening-hook fix, moving the video to the LSS YouTube channel. This is not a blank page. It’s a working asset with real iteration history.
Its call to action already pointed somewhere real, too — not a bare email link, an actual WPForms lead form at localservicespotlight.com/speaking-inquiry/, routed to operations@localservicespotlight.com.
| Page | Before today | After today |
|---|---|---|
| dennisyu.com/speaking | Bare email button. No link to the reel. | Links to the reel. CTA now points to the real inquiry form. |
| blitzmetrics.com/dennis-yu-speaker-reel/ | No link to formats, pricing, or the new page. | Links to dennisyu.com/speaking for formats. |
| localservicespotlight.com/speaking-inquiry/ | Live and working — but only one page pointed to it. | Now the shared destination for both. |
The clip trail — and a correction we’d rather make than hide
The thread also pointed at where the “next-level” clips are supposed to live: a “Jake Paul Omnibus” Google Doc — a real archive from a 2020 Jake Paul / FFM collaboration, shooting script and all — and a Google Photos link Dennis dropped back in February.
“On my phone in 4K. [link] And many hundreds of other videos we can use, including Jake Paul clips.” — Dennis, Basecamp, Feb 22, 2026
We checked the link. It’s one video. Forty-four seconds. Dennis, hiking, in an orange jacket. No Jake Paul.
That’s not a knock on the thread — read in context, that link was always meant to share one specific demo clip, and “hundreds of other videos” meant Dennis’s own private phone library, which nothing we found actually links to. Better to say that plainly now than hand Mats or Leo a dead end labeled “Jake Paul footage.” The real unblock is simple: Dennis shares (or has ops share) the actual slice of his private Google Photos that has the Jake Paul and CNN clips in it. Nothing else gets there.
Who’s actually building this
Grant’s handoff wasn’t originally to Mats. It was to Leo — Mats’s older brother.
“Grant– please tag team with Leo, a new team member, on collecting positive mentions, processing videos from our speaking/workshops… He’s already edited the Nathaniel Stevens podcast I did in person last week. And he’s super responsive especially via Snap and IG.” — Dennis, Basecamp, June 19, 2026
Worth knowing before handing this fully to Mats: Leo may already have context, drafts, or assets from those weeks that haven’t made it into anyone’s notes yet.
Still open: the real Jake Paul / CNN footage needs Dennis to share the actual private-photo slice — nothing publicly linked so far has it. Any further edits to the speaker-reel page itself should go through Dennis first; it has real sign-off history and isn’t ours to rework unilaterally.
