Pickett grew up in Brevard County, swam varsity at the University of Virginia, and chose trial law over a safe desk job after watching a federal jury trial that lit the fuse. He cut his teeth as a prosecutor in the 18th Circuit, trying thousands of criminal matters and discovering he belonged in front of juries. Today his firm is rooted in Downtown Melbourne, where he’s tried more than 50 jury trials to verdict over the last decade.
The Wins
In 2024, a Brevard County jury returned a $6.6 million verdict against State Farm in a car crash case Pickett tried. Multiple outlets and the firm’s case-results page documented the result and the road to it. This is consistent with his proven track record and peer recognition on Super Lawyers.

Great firms are built, not hired. Pickett invests in his own reps and his team’s reps. He graduated from Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College in 2018 and has trained at Mark Lanier’s Trial Academy. He also teaches locally, including at Eastern Florida State College’s Law Enforcement Academy. That “always be learning” culture shows up in the firm’s prep, visuals, and client communication.
