Too Good to Be True? What “Guaranteed Top 3 on Google Maps in 90 Days” Really Means — A Year Later

Editor’s note — September 29, 2026: This article was first published on September 24, 2025, back when Jumper Media’s “guaranteed top 3 in 90 days” ad first crossed my desk and I hadn’t run the tool myself. A year later, we’ve run Jumper Media across dozens of client accounts, and what we learned changed my thinking. I’ve rewritten this article to reflect that.

Every few months, a shiny new SEO promise makes the rounds: “Guaranteed top 3 rankings on Google Maps in 90 days.” No credit card required. No website access needed. Free trial. Sounds almost magical, right?

One example that caught my eye was Jumper Media, which advertised:

“Secure a Top 3 Position On Google Maps, Guaranteed in 90 Days.”

When I first saw that ad a year ago, my guard went up. Anyone who has been in local marketing long enough has seen guarantees like this before, and most of them do not survive contact with reality.

But here is the honest update: we did not just write about Jumper. We used it. For the last year we have run Jumper Media across dozens of client accounts, and what we learned changed my mind about the tool, even if I would still push back on the word “guaranteed.”

What Jumper Media actually does

Strip away the ad copy and Jumper Media is a straightforward tool. It drives behavioral traffic to your Google Business Profile: the clicks, calls, direction requests, and website visits that show Google real people are engaging with your listing.

That matters because Google Maps rankings are not decided by one thing. They come from combinations of signals: reviews, profile completeness, website authority, and yes, user behavior. Jumper Media strengthens the behavior signal. We use it as one of many techniques that clarify and strengthen the signal Google Maps is looking for.

What a year of running it taught us

The tool works when the foundation is solid. Our best results came from businesses that already had a strong Google Business Profile, were ranking in positions 4 through 10 on competitive terms, and had real humans answering the phone.

Plumbing Pros in Easton, PA went from 28% top-3 coverage to nearly 100% number-one rankings on “plumbing services near me.” ARDMOR Windows & Doors went from 1% to 64% top-3 coverage on window installation. At roughly $300 a month, the ROI was obvious.

It is not magic. One client, a personal injury attorney, did everything right on the Google side and still did not convert, because his audience was not the generic “car accident lawyer” searcher. The fix was not better rankings. It was a different channel entirely.

The pattern is consistent: Jumper Media amplifies what is already working. It does not replace the work.

The guarantee is still marketing

Here is where I hold my original line: nobody can guarantee rankings. Not in 90 days, not ever. Google decides, and Google does not take orders.

What a tool can do is move the signals that influence rankings, and do it measurably. That is what we test: a short initial run, and if the map grid does not move, there is no charge and the engagement ends. Proof before promises.

So read “guaranteed” as confidence in the method, not a contract with the algorithm. And ask any company making that claim what happens if the guarantee fails. The answer tells you everything.

How we use it now

Jumper Media is one tool inside a larger system. Our Maps Visibility System pairs it with everything else that strengthens the map signal: accurate GBP hours, strong reviews, optimized location pages, and monthly reporting that ties map movement back to real leads.

The rules we learned the hard way:

  • Pick keywords with real search volume where you already have some traction (positions 4 through 10), not terms nobody searches.
  • Do not use your brand name as a keyword. You are already ranking for that.
  • Take the baseline snapshot before you activate, so you can prove what moved.
  • Watch the GBP data, not just the grid. Better map rankings do not automatically mean the phone is ringing.
  • Do not hit activate without reviewing the data first. Billing is prorated daily, and unattended accounts add up fast. We learned that one with a $4,000 bill.

5-minute checklist for evaluating any bold SEO claim

These questions protect you no matter who is making the pitch:

  1. Show me the exact steps you will take. Transparency is non-negotiable.
  2. Do these tactics comply with Google’s guidelines? Get the answer in writing.
  3. Can I speak to recent clients in my industry and city? Real conversations beat website testimonials.
  4. What happens if rankings drop? Who owns it if things go backward?
  5. What is the cancellation and refund policy? If they are confident, they will let you walk away.

Verdict, one year later

  • Does it work? Yes, when the business has a solid foundation and the right keywords. We have seen it across dozens of accounts.
  • Is “guaranteed” real? No company can guarantee rankings. Treat the word as marketing and judge the tool on measured results instead.
  • What is smarter long-term? Use it as one part of a full system: real profile optimization, authentic reviews, local content, and true authority. That is what makes results stick.
