Web Support builds and maintains the websites at the center of every client’s personal brand — and keeps the “digital plumbing” underneath them working so marketing can actually be measured. It is where a founder’s brand goes from an idea to a live, tracked, fast, secure site that turns attention into leads.
What Web Support is
The technical delivery function for everything on a website — primarily WordPress sites for public figures and businesses selling courses and services. The team modifies templates, builds pages, integrates marketing and learning platforms, installs the tracking that makes dollar-a-day measurable, and keeps every site fast, secure, and current. A craft role (WordPress, HTML/CSS, LAMP) with a service backbone (take a request, deliver reliably, document it).
Why the function exists
A personal-branding site is the hub the entire content and advertising system points back to. If it’s slow, broken, untracked, or insecure, everything upstream is wasted. Web Support keeps that hub working and measurable.
Core responsibilities
– Build and modify sites: customize WordPress templates — homepages, landing pages, about sections, articles, embedded videos.
– Integrate the stack: connect learning systems (e.g. LearnDash), landing-page/CRM tools, and custom dashboards.
– Install the digital plumbing: deploy Google Tag Manager containers with tracking pixels so every visit, lead, and ad dollar is measurable.
– Maintain, update, and harden: keep WordPress core/themes/plugins current; monitor uptime, performance, and security.
– Handle web requests end to end with fast, reliable turnaround.
– Support content/media: edit documents and brochures, update checklists with screenshots, cut interview footage into segments.
– Document the systems so work is repeatable and transferable.
Tools and platform
WordPress (incl. multisite), LAMP stack, hands-on HTML/CSS, Git for change control. Sites run on premium managed hosting (see “Why We Choose WP Engine Premium Hosting”) for speed, security, staging, and backups. Coordination in Basecamp.
How a request flows
Intake (usually routed by Operations) → scope and stage → build (keeping the plumbing intact) → verify (desktop + mobile, speed, pixels/tags fire, no regressions) → ship and document with screenshots → close the loop.
Standards we hold
Fast and reliable; tracking never breaks; speed and security on premium hosting; change control (stage + version, don’t edit live and hope); documented.
The leveling system
Level 1 — basic plumbing (pages, embeds, tracking installs); Level 2 — standard webmaster (templates, integrations, maintenance); Level 3 — sensitive admin work. Attitude and willingness to learn matter more than starting skill. Entry point: the Web Developer Virtual Assistant role.
Escalation: when Web Support pulls in a human
Web Support resolves web problems and doesn’t sit on the ones it can’t. Requests needing a decision above the team’s authority — design/brand calls, spend, restricted access, or risky live changes — route to operations@blitzmetrics.com with full context, copying the relevant founder for visibility. Founders engage only when the decision is genuinely theirs.
How Web Support fits with the other roles
One of the specialist roles Operations coordinates. Operations turns client needs into well-formed web tasks and checks the result; Web Support goes deep on execution. The site it maintains becomes the measurable hub the whole system feeds.
