Author Profile Setup Checklist

Introduction

This document is for VAs or free tier users of our Personal Branding Site Builder who have completed the WP Post Author Installation Checklist and are ready to configure their author profiles. The checklist is intended to direct users to configure multiple author profiles on each site you implement it on. Configuring author profiles enhances the professional presentation of each author’s contributions on the site.

What You Will Need

  • Access to the site’s admin dashboard
  • List of all authors who need a profile setup on your site
  • For each author:
    • Social media links (Website, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
    • The author’s bio
    • Profile picture for the author, ideally a professional headshot

Overview

  1. Login to the admin dashboard
  2. Establish a list of all authors who need a profile setup on the site
  3. For each author
    • Add social media links
    • Upload author bio
    • Set profile picture
    • Verify everything is working by viewing a published post or page by the author

Implementation Checklist

  • ☐ Navigate to the site you are currently working on and login to the admin dashboard.
    • NOTE: If needed, fetch access credentials from BlitzAdmin. If you do not have access to BlitzAdmin, please contact us for access
  • ☐ Identify all authors who have authored posts or pages on the site
  • ☐ For each of the authors in this list:
    • ☐ Collect the author’s social media links, profile picture, and bio.
    • ☐ Navigate to the user’s profile by going to the admin dashboard -> Users page and searching for their name.
    • ☐ Click the “Edit” link below their name.
    • ☐ Scroll down to the “Contact Info” section:
      • Upload each of the social media links you have available. This could include:
        • The client’s personal branding website or company website
        • Their Facebook profile
        • Instagram account
        • Twitter account
        • LinkedIn
        • YouTube channel
    • ☐ Scroll down to the “About Yourself” section:
      • Copy/paste the client’s bio into the biographical info field.
      • Upload the client’s profile picture.
    • ☐ View any post or page associated with the author to view the author’s profile on a real-world published post.
    • ☐ If any changes are needed, return to the author’s user profile settings page and revise accordingly.

Verification Checklist

  1. Review each author’s profile settings in the Admin Dashboard -> Users page.
    • In the n section:
      • (optional) Is the author’s Website link set?
      • (optional) Is the author’s Facebook link set?
      • (optional) Is the author’s Instagram link set?
      • (optional) Is the author’s Twitter link set?
      • (optional) Is the author’s LinkedIn link set?
      • (optional) Is the author’s YoutTube link set?
        • NOTE: At least one of the above should be set, ideally all.
    • In the “About Yourself” section:
      • Is the Biographical Info section set?
      • Is there a profile picture set?
  2. Does every author who has published posts or pages on your site pass these checks?
