Notice the colored boxes? A knowledge panel is part of the Search Generative Experience (SGE), Google’s answer to tools like ChatGPT and Bard.

The SGE includes image results, People-Also-Ask, videos, and other features that offer real-time data from various sources, including websites and social media, all interconnected within Google’s Knowledge Graph database. 

The goal is to provide users with all relevant answers in one place, reducing the need for further clicks. 

Having a Knowledge Panel signifies authority. It shows that you are authentic and legitimate to Google, other business owners, your customers, and everyone who matters. 

It’s like getting verified on Google, similar to how you can get verified on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. However, being verified on Google is much more powerful because, unlike social media where anyone can get verified by paying a few dollars a month, a knowledge panel is only possible when you connect your objects together properly.
