Whop for Agencies: Retainers, Courses, Clipping, Partner Program

A note from Dennis

You should see who you’re sitting next to.

I’m Dennis Yu. The calculator and the partner terms matter. So do the people. Aden Trano at Whop, Jack Allard on my team, Cam Hazzard and Dylan Haugen on stage with me — those are real days, not stock photos. If you join Whop, come in through my link so I can actually help.

One place to bill clients, sell the playbook, pay clippers, and get paid for referring.

Retainers, the course, and the clippers you pay live in three tools that do not talk. Whop covers all three, installs inside HighLevel, and pays partners up to 30% of its gross profit on every business they refer. Your numbers first, then the mechanism.

What you pay to get paid: today versus Whop, on your own numbers

$87,360card fees per year at your rate today
$81,360card fees per year on Whop at 2.7% + 30¢
$6,000difference per year, before any optional layer
$4,115you keep upfront on a $5,000 financed job at the worst case Whop describes (15% plus 2.7% + 30¢, fee $885)

Base rates only: Stripe 2.9% + 30¢, Whop 2.7% + 30¢. Whop’s optional layers (managed tax 2%, orchestration 0.8%, billing 0.5%) are not included and can push the stack above Stripe. The financed-job line uses the fee Whop’s own BNPL post states; Whop’s docs describe a reserve instead, so confirm the per-provider cost before you price it into a job. Instant payouts, disputes and international cards are extra on both.

Same Whop pricing as going direct. No contract, no markup. Whop pays our founder a partner share out of its own margin; you pay nothing extra. Already decided on Whop? Why signing up through us costs nothing and adds a team. Run an agency or a platform? Become a Whop Partner under us.

What Whop gives you

What Whop gives an agency

Retainers, invoices, client portal

Subscriptions and invoices with automatic follow-ups for retainers; checkout links for projects and deposits; a storefront where clients log in. 2.7% + 30¢ per card transaction, no monthly fee.

Courses, community, affiliates

Sell the playbook as a course or a paid community with access granted on payment, and let members and students sell it for you with a built-in affiliate program (30% default, adjustable).

Content Rewards for clippers

Post a campaign with a rate per 1,000 views; clippers submit links and are paid on verified views. Airrack’s ClipFarm runs a $250,000-a-month clipping operation this way.

Whop inside HighLevel

Whop installs per sub-account as the default payment provider and routes invoices, order forms, memberships and courses. Your clients keep HighLevel; the rails change underneath.

Refer a client business and earn up to 30% of Whop’s gross profit on it for as long as it stays, plus 1% of its Whop Ads spend and a smaller share on partners you enroll. $10 million-plus paid to partners at launch.

The mechanism

Why we are building on this instead of watching it

HighLevel became the agency default by paying affiliates 40% recurring and letting agencies white-label it. The affiliates built the distribution. Dennis recommended it to hundreds of agencies and was never in the program early, which means he built someone else’s compounding line for free. Whop Partners is the same shape at the payment layer, launched August 19, 2026, with a second tier.

STEP 1 Retainers and the playbook on Whop Subscriptions, invoices, courses, community, affiliates STEP 2 Clients keep HighLevel; Whop underneath Installed per sub-account as the default provider STEP 3 Every sub-account is a referred business Partner share on each, for the life of the account
The systems play: one agency relationship, three compounding lines.

The multiplier is the HighLevel install. An agency with 40 client sub-accounts is not one referral; every sub-account that installs Whop as its payment provider is a Whop business, and a Whop business is the unit the partner program pays on. Nothing changes for the client.

From one agency relationship, three lines compound: the agency’s own billing on Whop, its clients’ sub-accounts, and, if the agency came to HighLevel through you, HighLevel’s own affiliate program. Whop pays on profit for as long as the business processes; HighLevel pays recurring on the subscription. Neither costs the agency anything extra.

What an agency actually moves first

  • Retainers: one subscription per client on Whop, invoices with follow-ups for the rest.
  • The playbook: a course or community, with affiliates on so clients and students sell it.
  • Clippers and creators: Content Rewards or payouts instead of a spreadsheet and Venmo.
  • Clients on HighLevel: install Whop in one sub-account, set it as default, run a $1 invoice, screenshot the settlement.

Numbers worth knowing

The program in four numbers

$4Bannual commerce on Whop (Fortune, Jun 2026)
22Musers on the platform (Fortune, Jun 2026)
$10M+paid to Whop partners at the August 2026 launch (Whop)
30%of Whop’s gross profit to the partner, for the life of the referred business (Whop)

Sources: Fortune, Jun 14 2026; whop.com/blog/whop-partners (Aug 2026). The partner rate is “up to 30%”; the second-tier percentage is not published. The honest math on what 30% of gross profit means per merchant is on the partner article.

Already doing this

Agencies and platforms already doing this on Whop

Each link is our retelling of Whop’s own write-up, with only the numbers Whop published and what we would tell a peer to copy. All 52 stories, by industry, are at dennisyu.com/whop.

  • Viral Coach. 3,000-plus clients across 250-plus industries, with contracts, payments and client management on Whop, run from Palmer, Alaska.
  • Brez Scales. A $400,000-a-month ads agency at 20 that sells its playbook as a mentorship community with courses.
  • Airrack's ClipFarm. A $250,000-a-month clipping agency paying clippers per view through Content Rewards.
  • SideShift. 850,000-plus creators paid through Whop's embedded payouts: bank, crypto, Venmo, Cash App.
  • Cal.com. 20,000-plus customers can now be paid before the appointment through Whop's embedded checkout.

What it costs

Fees, the financing gate, and the one number Whop has not confirmed

Whop’s base rate is 2.7% + 30¢ per card transaction with no monthly fee, 20 basis points under Stripe’s 2.9% + 30¢. Optional layers cost extra and only if you switch them on: managed sales tax 2%, payment orchestration 0.8%, billing automation 0.5%, affiliate payout processing 1.25%. International cards add 1.5% and currency conversion 1%. Disputes are $15. Instant payouts are 4% + $1; next-day ACH is $2.50. Turn on every layer and the stack costs more than Stripe, so read your own statement before you believe anyone’s savings pitch, including ours.

Financing is not on by default. Whop requires a verified Whop Payments account, a complete store page, a dispute rate under 2% over 90 days, and $30,000 processed from ten or more customers in the last 90 days, or 90 days of statements from your previous processor. It is not available to gambling, sports betting, trading signals, credit offers or adult categories.

On what financing costs the business, Whop’s own pages disagree. Its February 26, 2026 buy-now-pay-later post says the BNPL fees are 15% plus Whop’s processing fees, and in the same post that you receive the full payment upfront minus standard processing fees; its financing documentation lists no per-provider merchant fee and describes Splitit’s 15% as a reserve returned after 180 days. We have asked Whop for the per-provider number in writing. Until then, model a financed job at 15% plus 2.7% + 30¢ and treat anything better as upside.

The bonus

What we add when you sign up through our founder’s link

Dennis Yu, founder of BlitzMetrics, is a Whop Partner. Whop pays him a share of its profit on every business that signs up through his link, and that share funds the work the BlitzMetrics team normally charges agencies and personal brands for.

Personal brand analysis

A scored inventory of your relationships, proof, content and reputation, with the exact next moves. The same document Dennis built for Whop’s own Head of Services.

Digital plumbing

Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Search Console and the Whop pixel installed and verified, with conversion events that actually fire, so you can see which dollar rang the phone.

Content Factory

One recording becomes a definitive article, short clips and posts that point to one page you own.

Agents that keep it running

We set up the AI agents that audit your public reputation, fix what they find, and produce a weekly Metrics, Analysis, Action report after we hand it off.

For an agency that means the founder’s personal brand, the case-study pages a prospect checks before a call, the measurement stack your clients will ask you to prove, and, if you want it, enrollment as a Whop Partner under Dennis so your own client referrals pay you.

Bonus applies to new Whop businesses created through the link that process real payments. Sign up, take your first payment, then email us and we schedule the work.

Honest limits

Who this is not for

If your retainers are invoiced from QuickBooks and paid by ACH with no card fees, Whop’s rate is a step backward for that part; use it for the course, the community and the payouts. If you serve gambling, betting, trading-signal or credit clients, financing and some categories are off the table. If you want a CRM or a project management tool, this is not that.

How it works

Three steps

  1. Create your Whop business through the link. whop.com/start/?a=thedennisyu. Attribution is recorded at signup; your pricing is unchanged. If you already have a Whop account, email us the business name first and we submit the referral by hand so it is not lost.
  2. Take your first payment. Invoice, checkout link, or Tap to Pay on iPhone.
  3. Email dennis@dennisyu.com with the subject “I signed up for Whop through Dennis” and your Whop business URL. We schedule the bonus within one week.

Not sure Whop is the right move yet? Start with BlitzMetrics; it tells you what your business needs first, and it is free either way.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can an agency bill clients on Whop and keep HighLevel? Yes. Whop installs as the payment provider inside a HighLevel sub-account and routes invoices, order forms, memberships and courses; it must be set as the default provider in that sub-account or payments may not route correctly.

How does Whop pay clippers? Content Rewards lets you post a campaign with a rate per 1,000 views; clippers submit links and are paid on verified views. Whop charges 10% on those payouts.

What does a Whop Partner earn? Up to 30% of Whop’s gross profit on each referred business for as long as it stays, plus 1% of its Whop Ads spend, plus a smaller, unpublished share on businesses referred by partners you enroll. On plain card processing that is a few thousand dollars a year per $1 million merchant; the money is in platforms, financing, ads and memberships.

Can I become a partner under Dennis? Yes. Create your Whop account through the link, open Partners in your dashboard and apply. Your own referrals pay you the partner share; Dennis earns a smaller second-tier share; your rates are unchanged.

Does going through the link cost more? No. Whop’s pricing is identical either way.
