Ever see a word, phrase, acronym, or abbreviation in the BlitzMetrics Academy Members Facebook group or BlitzNation Facebook group and ask yourself "What the heck are they talking about?"

Below is a list of frequently used words and terms we use in the Blitz Family. Like all family, you'll get used to it and will find yourself catching on!

9 Triangles (of Business) - These are the 9 business principles that BlitzMetrics teaches all it's employees, students, customers, and partners. 

A

#ABP - Analyst, Business, Partner: The Triad. This one of the principles in our 9 Triangles. This is your “why”, or what your business stands for. For us, our “why” is to create jobs for young adults. Figure out your “why” and understand how partners and other businesses can help you live up to it.

Academy - This is our famous Digital Marketing training platform where we teach our Social Amplification Engine. Access the academy here: academy.blitzmetrics.com.

AEC - Awareness. Engagement. Conversion. This was our previous phrase for the ACC funnel. It's been retired in mid 2018 to be consistent with Facebook's Targeting Objectives which is also Awareness, Engagement, Conversion.

AC – An acronym for ActiveCampaign, a popular email marketing automation tool.

ACC - Awareness. Consideration. Conversion. This is the three phase funnel that we promote when building any marketing campaign no matter the platform. 

ACV – See “Average Customer Value”

Average Customer Value – A formula that tells you how much your customer is worth.

Average Visitor Value – A formula that tells you how much you can pay per click.

AVV – See “Average Visitor Value”

BOFU – An acronym for Bottom of Funnel. Relates to content and offers at the “Conversion” stage of the marketing funnel.

C

#CCS - Content, Checklists and Software: Word of Mouth. This is one of the principles of the 9 Triangles of Business. Content that’s powerful is a product of your direct execution. It’s unique, plus reinforces your personal branding while elevating your client. Checklists simplify step-by-step execution, as well as the communication of that execution. More practice helps us refine our checklist processes, via client and Specialist suggestions. Requests that are most common prioritize software development, which is automation of manual efforts.

#CID - Communicate, Iterate and Delegate: Leadership. This is one of the principles of the 9 Triangles of Business. Communicate frequently and reliably, even if just to say you don’t know, but will get back to them. Frequent, small touches beat the perfection that never happens. Iterate via MAA rapidly to allow “many shots on goal” versus procrastination disaster. Resolve external dependencies first, so delegate before it becomes an emergency for someone else.

CF – An abbreviation for ClickFunnels. A popular landing page and funnel-building software.

Click Through Rate – A way to measure the ratio of clicks to the number of people who saw an ad, email, or landing page. It is calculated by number of clicks / number of impressions X 100.

CO – See “Core Offer”

Cold traffic – People in your target audience who have never heard of your business.

Consideration - The second stage in Facebook's Ad targeting objectives. This is the second stage of our ACC (Awareness, Consideration, Conversion) funnel. 

​​​​Conversion Rate Optimization – The process for increasing the number of people who take a specific action on your site.

Core Offer – Your flagship offer in a sales funnel.

Cost Per Click – The amount you pay a publisher (like a website, social media platform, etc) each time one of your ads is clicked. See also: “PPC”

Cost Per Lead – An advertising pricing model where the advertiser is charged for each lead generated from the ad.

Call To Action – An instruction given to your audience so that they take an immediate, measurable action.

CPC – See “Cost Per Click”

CPL – See “Cost Per Lead”

CRM – An abbreviation for Customer Relation Management, usually in reference to a CRM software that is designed to help businesses automate and synchronize sales, marketing, customer service, and technical support.

CRO – See “Conversion Rate Optimization”

CTA – See “Call To Action”

CTR – See “Click Through Rate”

CVO – See “Customer Value Optimization”

D

Dollar a Day Strategy – This is our famous strategy to promote your brand in a cost effective way.  Learn more at: blitzmetrics.com/fdd

Dashboard  AKA The Dashboard. This refers to our comprehensive data dashboard, this is located at dashboard.blitzmetrics.com

#DDD - Do. Delegate. Delete. Personal Efficiency. This is one of the principles of the 9 Triangles of Business. Do it now or don’t do it at all. More time tomorrow is an illusion, as opportunities and corresponding tasks increase. Delegate where you have resources that can reliably execute, whether virtual assistants or a Specialist. But still be responsible. Delete is your most common option to keep “inbox zero”. So don’t skim; read thoroughly enough once that you can recall or search later.

E

Engagement  A metric on how many people have interacted with your content. e.g. "She got an engagement rate of 30%, that's amazing considering our Standards of Excellence is 10% engagement for a Facebook post!"

Evergreen - Evergreen refers to evergreen content. A "greatest hit" that will last indefinitely. Evergreen can also refer to evergreen funnels, evergreen campaigns.

F

FB – A common abbreviation for Facebook. 

Funnel - A funnel is a metaphor for the purchasing path of a consumer. It's also known as the customer's journey commonly mapped out at BlitzMetrics as ACC (Awareness, Consideration, Conversion). Also a term popularized by ClickFunnel's owner Russell Brunson in mapping out the customer journey.

G

GA – An abbreviation for Google Analytics. Software offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic.

#GCT - Goals, Content and Targeting: Business Strategy. One of the principles of the 9 Triangles of Business. Your goals drive your content, your content drives your targeting, and your targeting drives your conversions.

GDPR: The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)  a data protection regulation and privacy law for all individuals within the EU. GDPR enables citizens and residents to have more control over their personal data, and regulates the rules for international businesses by unifying the regulation within the EU.

Greatest Hits: This is what all creators strive for. For musicians it's a platinum song. For entrepreneurs and marketers, it's having content that will "live forever". Evergreen content that can be promoted indefinitely.

GTM – An abbreviation for Google Tag Manager. A system offered by Google that manages tags used to track and report on website pixels.

H

hot traffic – Refers to audiences that have already purchased something from you.

I

Infusionsoft - This is the CRM (customer relationship management) that we utilize. Some of our uses for it are but not limited to: guide distribution, payment processing, client information collection, student progression handling, event promotions.

J

K

KPI – An abbreviation for Key Performance Indicator. A metric used to track the success of an business or marketing initiative.

L

Lab – See “DM Lab”

lead – A potential customer. Typically one who has expressed an interest by giving contact information, such as an email address.

Lead Magnet – An irresistible bribe offering a specific chunk of value to a prospect in exchange for their contact information. The goal of the Lead Magnet is to maximize the number of targeted leads you are getting for an offer. It’s the first step in the Customer Value Optimization process.

#LDT - Learn. Do. Teach.  One of the principles of the 9 Triangles of Business. To do anything great, one must go through the sequential process of first learning the task and then doing the task. Only when you can perform a task repeatedly and with excellence, can you teach. 

LM – See “Lead Magnet”

M

#MAA - Metrics, Analysis, Action. One of the 9 Triangles of Business that is the framework of iterating on any particular project or task. e.g. "Ben did #MAA on the campaigns and it's looking healthy!"

#MOF - Marketing, Operations and Finance: Business Functions. This is one of the principles of the 9 Triangles of Business. Marketing drives sales. Content marketing, not cold-calling drives sales at low cost, provided you have demonstrated expertise over time. Operations is the production of your product or service, whether for yourself or the client. Reliable delivery is the french fries at McDonald’s. Finance manages the money in and out, determining where we’re profitable vs losing money – by person, project, or product.

MM - Abbreviation for Mobile Monkey, a chatbot platform founded by one of our partners Larry Kim. We are a strong advocate of Mobile Monkey because we believe that chatbots will guide the way businesses communicate on Facebook with consumers. Logan Young is also on the board of advisor for this company.

MOFU – An acronym for Middle of Funnel. Relates to content and offers at the “Consideration” stage of the marketing funnel.

N

Net Promoter Score (NPS) – a tool that can be used to gauge your customers’ experiences and loyalty to your brand, a metric that can be used to measure the likelihood that your customer’s would recommend you.

O

OP or OP2 – OptimizePress or OptimizePress2. A WordPress plugin that easily creates landing pages, sales pages, membership portals, and product launch funnels.

OTO – An abbreviation of One Time Offer. A scarcity offer that is only made once to a specific audience. Similar to a flash sale.

P

pixel – Little snippets of code advertisers place on their web pages that allow them to follow you around the web with relevant ads. See also: “Remarketing”

PM – An acronym for Private Message, a direct, one-on-one message on a social media instant messaging feature. Also see: “Profit Maximizer”

PPC – An abbreviation for Pay Per Click. Refers to the advertising model where advertisers pay a publisher every time one of their ads is clicked. See Also: “CPC”

Profit Maximizer – An immediate upsell offered after the Core Offer that serves to increase the average transaction value per customer.

Q

QA – An abbreviation of Quality Assurance. e.g. "Ask Jake to QA the article for over-all messaging, spelling errors and any grammatical mistakes". 

R

Relevance score – A metric on Facebook ads that tells the advertiser how audiences are reacting to the ad. It is based on positive and negative feedback from the specific audience to which the ad is targeted.

remarketing – A marketing strategy that places advertisements in front of an audience based on previous online actions. See also, “pixel”

retargeting – See “Remarketing”

ROI – An abbreviation for “Return on Investment.” A metric used to compare the benefit of an investment to the cost of production.

S

SOP – An abbreviation for Standard Operating Procedure. A documented method for a routine task. DigitalMarketer’s execution plans are our SOPs for various marketing tactics.

split test – A method of testing two variants to locate areas of improvement. Often used to improve landing page performance. Also referred to as an A/B Test.

T

T&C – An abbreviation for the Traffic & Conversion Summit.

TCS – See “T&C”

TOFU – An acronym for Top of Funnel. Relates to content and offers at the “Awareness” stage of the marketing funnel.

Topic Wheel - A BlitzMetrics tool used to map out a company or Personal Brand's 6 topics to guide the content creation process. e.g. One of Dennis's topics on his topic wheel is Mentorship, that's why BlitzMetrics has a mission of job creation for young adults.

Tripwire – An irresistible, super low-ticket offer (usually between $1 and $20) that is designed to convert prospects into buyers.

Video Sales Letter (VSL) – A promotional video that gives same information provided in a traditional sales letter.

W

warm traffic – Audience who has displayed interest in your offer but have not made a purchase.

WP – An abbreviation for WordPress. A popular content management system. Available for free at wordpress.org or used for website hosting at wordpress.com.
