Free Google Tools to Help You Win as a Local Business

Maria Elena Duron is a marketing coach and a Google trainer. She is helping small businesses with their digital marketing by using free Google tools to market effectively.

What are all the different Google tools that we have and are free?

I have worked with small businesses on how they can show up serving their area and optimize that using the free website to post. So, we teach them how they can utilize the following: 

Google Merchant Center to use free tools like showing up on the Google shopping tab, Google images, and search.

Google Lens is available in the US and is an excellent tool for people to show up and be seen in one more place. You would think everybody is on the same social network or looking on the same platforms, but that’s not the case. We’re all at different places, so it’s nice to show up in different places; it lends credibility and confirms that you are a business, and they might want to take a closer look.

For Google Search, a lot of people believe that Google is the world wide web, but it’s not. It’s the biggest library on the world wide web, and people will think that the Google bot will find them when they put something online, giving it a good 90 days. More likely, it will find you, but I know that cash flow is king in small businesses, and in 90 days, you could run out before you can even get in front of the right customer.

So, we talk about how you can enter things in the Search Console to ensure that Google sees you, which means you are searchable and visible.

Then there’s Google Analytics. That’s a great way to measure. I’m a big fan and a strong advocate of 

“If you’re not measuring, you’re not marketing” 

$1 or one minute spent on something that’s not lifting the bottom line or making your goals inevitable is $1 or one minute spent too much.

So, we talk about that and how you can make better business decisions and teach and coach how to link those two to show Google your credibility by confirming all that information.

Many people will ask, “Why are we out there speaking and presenting this for Google?”

I explain to them that Google is the number one search engine for the reason of the fact that the information is correct there. The only reason the information is correct is that you, the small business owner, put in the correct information.

So, if there is more confirmation that it is you and the information is correct, you have a higher opportunity to be visible. You will show up when somebody is searching for your product, service, or solution. You will be more visible.
